Florida Church Plans To Burn Qur'ans on 9/11.

Oh yeah, cuz that's REAL productive!  This kind of action shows that these people are not interested in peace or humanity.  This is an act of bigotry and hatred!  (Islamophobia isn't their only vice, this church is also fond of vigorously fighting against LGBT equality as well.)  Outside the Dove World Outreach Center is a permanent sign reading, "Islam is of the Devil," which is also the name of a book writen by Dr Terry Jones, the church's leader.  They have even created a Facebook page entitled, "International Burn A Koran Day."

If you think this is an isolated incident, you're wrong.  Islamophobia has quite obviously been on the rise since 9/11.  From profiling at transportation hubs to bombing of mosques, blind hate in this country is rampant.  Currently, people in New York City, whom claim to be patriots and support the constitution, have no problem denying the First Amendment's religious freedoms to Muslims who wish to build a mosque and community center in the vicinity of the World Trade Center site.

The fact that the USA is currently at war or hostile towards several Islamic nations, means that on varying levels the US imperialist war machine must demonize the people of said nations in order to keep up support for the war or aggression.  This is done, for example, to our soldiers by lying and brainwashing and to civilians by withholding of facts and manipulation of the media.  Let some dimwitted, closed-minded idiots get the slightest hint that a people are undesirable and they can rally other like-minded idiots to create groups and movements and the phobia and hatred spreads like wild fire.  This can happen because, unfortunately, the gift of oratory is not limited to sane, educated, open-minded people.  Care is not taken to distinguish between good and bad elements of the Islamic nation's society and the people as a whole suffer our manufactured American hatred.  Islam, then, also becomes victim.

This behavior, of course, is not limited to Americans; It is a human characteristic to hate.  The quickest way to elicit suspicion and fear between people is to point out differences.  It is a sad trait we all share.  From Switzerland's banning of minarets to hate-filled ramblings of Dutch politician Geert Wilders to France's banning of the burqa, Islamophobia is alive and well in Europe too.

Kucinich: "We are losing our nation to lies about the necessity of war" ...

KUCINICH 2012!!!

Billions of American tax dollars are going missing in Afghanistan and funding Afghan Warlords, corruption is rife. It is so abundant, in fact, that a senior US lawmaker declared on Monday that she'd be freezing $3.9 billion in Afghan aid dollars until the situation is addressed.

Rep. Nita Lowey's declaration of principle was made in response to a Wall Street Journal report that claimed over $3 billion has been legally shipped through the airport in Kabul over just the last three years, leading investigators to believe much of it comes from U.S. aid dollars being diverted by corrupt officials.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, making a speech to the House of Representatives on Monday, had a few choice words to describe the situation.

"We are losing our nation to lies about the necessity of war," the iconoclastic Democrat opined.

The Journal reported that "the cash -- packed into suitcases, piled into pallets and loaded into airplanes -- is declared and legal to move" through the airport. The paper added: "The officials believe [...] customers who have sent millions of dollars of their money abroad include high-ranking officials and their associates in President Hamid Karzai's administration, including Vice President Mohammed Fahim, and one of the president's brothers, Mahmood Karzai, an influential businessman.
"Where they allegedly get the money is one of the questions under investigation."

Speaking before Congress, Kucinich raised the specter of the $12 billion shipped in pallets from the United States to Iraq just after the Bush administration's "shock and awe" bombing campaign.

"Vanity Fair reported in 2004 that 'at least $9 billion' of the cash had 'gone missing, unaccounted for,'" he noted. "$9 billion."

Kucinich continued: "

Last week, the BBC reported that 'the US military has been giving tens of millions of dollars to Afghan security firms who are funneling the money to warlords.' Add to that a corrupt Afghan government underwritten by the lives of our troops
... And now reports indicate that Congress is preparing to attach $10 billion in state education funding to a $33 billion spending bill to keep the war going.

Back home, millions of Americans are out of work, losing their homes, losing their savings, their pensions and their retirement security.

"We are losing our nation to lies about the necessity of war. Bring our troops home. End the war. Secure our economy."

It's not the first time Kucinich has lambasted aid funding to Afghanistan. The Congressman declared in a 2009 press release: "U.S. contractors are paying U.S. tax dollars to the Taliban in order to protect the delivery of U.S. shipments of U.S. goods to U.S. soldiers so that our soldiers can fight the Taliban."

Also, in June 2010, responding to a New York Times story, the Ohio Democrat pondered rhetorically, "Is the U.S. paying for attacks on U.S. troops?"

"Our troops are dying in Afghanistan, and now it turns out we may be funding their killers," Kucinich said in a statement e-mailed to Raw Story, renewing his longstanding call for a pullout. "Our continued presence in Afghanistan is detrimental to our security."

At the time, he vowed to bring the report to the "personal attention" of his colleagues in Congress involved with approving aid dollars for Afghanistan.

"The American people are paying to prop up a corrupt government that may be using our money to pay private companies to drum up business by paying the insurgents to attack our troops," he said.

ISRAEL IS ATTEMPTING TO DEFLECT CRITICISM OF ITS MASSACRE OF UNARMED HUMANITARIAN WORKERS OF THE FREEDOM FLOTILLA BY TRYING TO LINK THE HUMANITARIANS TO AL QAEDA. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS BS, AMERICA! JUST BECAUSE ISRAEL SAYS IT, CNN IS GONNA RUN WITH IT.

Looks like Israel is following the example set by the CIA and Bush/Cheney to legitimatize a preemptive war against Iraq. There were no WMDs and there are no links to Al Qaeda! I'll post more later.

Healthy Hawk Shits on Uninsured America

Gosh, it sure must be nice for Senator Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) not to have to worry about his health care situation, ya know the one us tax payers are providing him.  That fucking hawk wants President Obama to delay the health care legislation to focus on the war in Afghanistan.

"Jobs and our economy are terribly important. So this may be an audacious suggestion, but I would suggest we put aside the health care debate until next year, the same way we put cap and trade and climate change, and talk now about the essentials: the war and money."[1]

It’s sad to hear a federally elected official describe war as “essential.”  It’s pretty pathetic to think that Congress, with its 475 senators & representatives and all their thousands of pages, interns and staffers cannot handle more than on issue at a time.  We’ve come so far with the health care legislation it would be sheer stupidity to drop it now.  I don’t think the majority of the 45.7 uninsured people (including me)  would be happy to turn on the news to find that their government prefers war mongering to the care of its own citizens.[2]  Thank goodness, Senator Jack Reed (D-R.I.) is a voice of reason:

"Absolutely not," said the Rhode Island Democrat. "I think we're in the midst of probably the most significant debate and conclusion with legislation that we've ever had. And the health care debate is essential to our economic future. There are businesses and individuals each year pay more and more for health care, it's become unaffordable. We have to go ahead and conclude this debate. To stop now would be stopping on the edge, I think, of significant reform, which is so important for the country. And frankly, I think, it's ironic. Under the Bush administration, there was no serious debate about Afghanistan. That was relegated to the sidelines. There was no attempt to pay for it. And suddenly, now, that becomes a critical need that we put aside health care. I don't think so. I think we have to push forward."[3]

Let’s get health care done and dealt with.  The war will still be there.  I guarantee it.
